SINTESIS DAN KARAKTERISASI MEMBRAN KOMPOSIT YANG BERBAHAN DASAR KITOSAN, SILIKA, DAN CaCO3

Abstract: Synthesis and characterization of composite membranes using the precursor of khitosan, silica, and calcium carbonate (CaCO3) have been carried out. Visual observations indicated that at pH 7 the formation of membrane depends on khitosan and calcium carbonate composition. FTIR analysis confirm the availability of absorption of –OH  at 3400 cm-1, amine at 1600 cm-1and Si-O-Si at 1080 cm-1. Futhermore, the existence of carbonate have been detected from XRD pattern where their crystal size increase due to the addition of more calcium content.
