PENENTUAN KONDISI OPTIMUM AKTIFITAS KATALITIK Ni(II)-ASETONITRIL YANG DIAMOBILISASI PADA SILIKA MODIFIKASI UNTUK REAKSI TRANSESTERIFIKASI
Abstract: Synthesis of Ni(II)-acetonitrile grafted
on modified silica
and its catalytic
activity test in transesterification of
fried oil have
been investigated. The
obtained catalyst material
were characterized by Fourier
Transform Infra Red
(FT-IR), Atomic Absorption
Spectrophotometry (AAS), and Nano
Laser Particle Size
Analyzer (NL-PSA) which
showed that Ni
complex was immobilized on the
surface of modified
silica with Ni
loading about 4
% and catalyst
particle size mainly around
100 nm. The
product of transesterification which
followed by GC-MS confirmed that
the optimum condition
to produce methyl
ester were 0,3%
(b/b) catalyst concentration, 400
rpm rate of reaction and 3 hours of reaction time.
Key words: catalyst, modified silica, immobilization, transesterification reaction,
