ABSTRACT: Concrete as a civil building construction materials have a deficiency or loss that is about the size of the dead load weight of the concrete itself. Dead load on the building structure can be minimized by the use of lightweight concrete. To get a lightweight concrete that meets the quality or value of concrete compressive strength, is strongly influenced by the selection of coarse aggregate and mix proportion of concrete used. Concrete is called lightweight concrete if volume weight is 1400-1850 kg/m3 (ACI 213R-79). The purpose of this research is to investigate the values of compressive strength of lightweight concrete aggregates ALWA with the Dreux-Corrise Method. Specimens consist of 15 pieces of concrete cylinders (d = 150 mm, t = 300 mm) for lightweight concrete ALWA with the Dreux-Corrise Method. Treatment of samples was done by soaking and aerated for 7 days. Compressive strength testing performed on specimens aged 28 days. There are 3 specimens for 3 days, 7 days and 14 days for compressive strength, and there are 6 speciments for 28 days compression test. The results showed average for compressive strength are 9,38 MPa; 7,86 MPa ; 13,30 MPa dan 20,59 MPa for 3 days; 7 days; 14 days and 28 days respectively. The average value of the compressive strength obtained from the Dreux-Corrise Method was 20,59 MPa (28 days) lower than targeted of 24,5 MPa.
