PANDANGAN KELUARGA PADA ANGGOTA KELUARGA YANG MENGALAMI GANGGUAN TRANSEKSUAL (WARIA) DI KECAMATAN KALIKOTES KABUPATEN KLATEN
Abstract: Transsexual is a
gender identity disorder with improvement by displeasure of its gender.
Biological factors (chromosomal abnormalities, brain structure and genetics)
contributed only 5% in the formation of transsexual (transsexual), while the
rest is caused by environmental factors and family.
This qualitative study adopted phenomenological approach, five
Participants were selected according to certain criteria by using purposive
sampling method in Kalikotes District. Data were collected through in depth
interview process in two phases and accompanied by field notes. The interview
was recorded and converted in to verbatim transcript and then analysed by using
collaizz method.
The results identified seven major themes which consist of signs of
transsexual, causing family members to be transsexual, family responses to
family members with physical performance transsexual, the family response to
the psychological aspects of family members who experience transsexual
disorder, the attitude of family members who experience transsexual disorder of
the family environment, attitudes of family members who have the disorder
transsexual (transsexual) community environment, action taken by the family to
drive to a normal condition.
This study concludes that positive view at family members who have the
disorder transsexual (transsexual) are accepted with intact despite the
appearance and behavior such as women's feminism. The family is views
negatively by applying pressure to a family member who has a disorder
transsexual, this is because families have an understanding and miss
information against transsexuals.
