Abstract: Aging is a process of gradual disappearance of the network's ability to self-repair / replace themselves and maintain their normal structure and function that can not withstand the injury (including infections) and repair the damage suffered. As we get older, the elderly will experience changes in the musculoskeletal system including joint cartilage degeneration, loss of strength, flexibility and complaining of joint pain. Joint pain is caused by a functional disorder of pain when the joint is moved and limited motion caused by structural changes in the joints. Low impact aerobics is an alternative that can be used to overcome these problems.
The design of this study is Quasi Experimentation with the design of Non-Equivalent Control Group. The population is elderly who experience joint pain following lower limb posyandu Juwangi elderly in Juwangi, Tempursari, Ngawen, Klaten with number 64 elderly. The sampling used was non-probability sampling with purposive sampling method by the number of 30 elderly people.
The result using independent t-test, found that the effective low-impact aerobic exercises to decrease lower extremity joint pain in older adults in Juwangi, Tempursari, Ngawen, Klaten indicated by Pvalue value = 0.000 (P <0,05).
