Abstract: Menstrual pain or dysmenorrhea is pain that arises usually painful began to arise shortly before or during menstruation, reaching a peak within 24 hours and after 2 days will disappear due disritmik myometrical contraction, most woman will experience symptoms such as fatigue, pain around the lower abdomen. Dysmenorrhea are very disturbing in some teenagers activities. Therefore, to be comfortable the adolescents should attempt to reduce menstrual pain by using warm compress.
Purpose: To know the effectiveness of warm compress to reduce the level of menstrual pain in adolescents at Glodogan Village, South Klaten, Klaten.
Methods: Using Quasy Experiment method with design of non equivalent control group pretest-postest design and using chi square test. The sample technique using purposive sampling techniques were 36 respondens. Measurement of pain using the NRS (Numeric Rating Scale).
Result: The result showed that light level of pain in the intervention group is 12 people (66,7%) and in the control group is 5 people (27,8%). While the medium level of pain in the intervention group is 6 people (33,3%) and in the control group is 13 people (72,2%). Chi square result showed p value: 0,019; α: 0,05.
Conclusion: Warm compress is effective to reduce the level of menstrual pain.
