UJI KETURUNAN JANTAN HASIL PENGALIHAN KELAMIN PADA IKAN NILEM (Osteochilus hasselti C.V)

ABSTRACT: The production of superior growth and high fecundity of female nilem carp enables to fulfill the market demand of nilem carp eggs. In the present study, mass production of female was carried out by fertilizing normal female with functional male from sex reversal at embryonic stage. Progeny test was conducted on the seeds to see the effectiveness of male functional. The study was done in Freshwater Aquaculture Research Station at Cijeruk and in The Laboratory of Bioreproduction in The Research Institute for Aquaculture. Twenty populations of progeny were prepared through the fertilization of eggs from one female with 17 different group of sperm from functional male. Larvae were reared in aquaria grown in concrete tank until reaching 3 g of body weight. Sex determination was examined by acetocarmin splash on the gonads of fry of different progeny groups. Ten progeny groups produced 100% females. While the other 7 progeny groups produced below 81,02±7,625%.
