STRUKTUR KOMUNITAS PLANKTON DI PERAIRAN SELAT BALI
ABSTRACT: Plankton is a group
of organisms that play an important role in aquatic ecosystems. Distribution
and abundance of plankton in waters are influenced by the physico-chemical
parameters of water. The aim of this study is to know the structure community
of plankton in Bali Strait. The results showed that abundance in Bali Strait
both of phytoplankton and zooplankton are in the range 236-4,724 ind/l and 236
– 5,433 ind/l, respectively. The community structure of plankton were dominated
by Thalassiosira sp. (Diatoms) and Acartia clausi (Crustacea). The rarely
species of plankton that found in all station were Pleurosigma sp. (Diatoms),
Dinophysis sp. (Dinophyceae), Pinctada sp. (Bivalvia), Undella sp. (Cilliata),
dan Notholca sp. (Rotifera). Principal component analysis shows that stations
10 characterized by phosphate and ammonium, station 7 characterized by silica,
station 14 chararcterized by salinity, and station 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9,11, 11,12,13
and 15 characterized by pH, temperature, nitrate and silica.
