SEBARAN SPASIAL KERANG DARAH (Anadara maculosa) DI PERAIRAN TELUK KOTANIA, SERAM BARAT, MALUKU
ABSTRACT: This research has
been conducted in Kotania bay, Seram Island, Maluku. In order to find out the
density of blood cockles used line transect methods in seven sampling stations
and Morisita index used to determine the pattern of spreading. The results
showed that the cockles with the highest density was found at station 5 is
10.06 psc/ sq.m., whereas the lowest at station 6 is 0.53 psc/sq.m. The cockles
spread between 10 to 60 meters on the beach from the mean tidal level to form a
clumped-type distribution. The density of blood cocles tends of to increase at
the stations that have a high content of organic material, especially in the
muddy bottom substrate.
