PENGARUH TETUA BETINA PADA PEWARISAN KETAHANAN CABAI TERHADAP CHILI VEINAL MOTTLE VIRUS DALAM POPULASI PERSILANGAN PBC495XPBC275
ABSTRACT: Chillipepper is an
important horticulutral crop in indonesia one of the major problem in
chillipepper production was virus infection, with ChiVMV as one of the most
important virus. The used of resistance cultivar was considered as the efective
practical controlling method. Important information in plant breeding program
development of resistance varieties was to know the genetic of the trait.
Experiment was done at Sumuranja village, Serang district and at Plant Virology
Laboratory of Bogor Agriculture Institute (IPB). The aim of the reseach was to
study maternal effect in inheritance of chillipepper resistance trait to ChiVMV
within population derived from crossing betwen PBC 495 X PBC 275. Result showed
that there was no maternal effect in inheritance of chillipepper resistance
trait of ChiVMV. This result indicated that inheritance of chillipepper
resistance trait to ChiVMV was controlled by genes in the nucleus.
