KONTRIBUSI EKSOSISTEM MANGROVE SEBAGAI PEMASOK ENERGI MAKANAN IKAN BELANAK (Liza subviridis) DI PERAIRAN PANTAI UTARA KONAWE SELATAN SULAWESI TENGGARA
ABSTRACT: Mangrove is a
detritus producer in many coastal ecosystems. Mangrove detritus is used by
marine organisms as one of their main food sources. Mullet, a detrivorous fish,
is known to feed on mangrove detritus as their primary food source. The
research was carried out for 6 months (Mei 2010- October 2010) in a mangrove
area on the north coast of South Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. Fish samples
were collected using gill net. Based on the analysis of stomach contents, the
diets of mullet fish can be classified into six types which were detritus,
algae, diatom, foraminifera, copepods and mollusks. Detritus group was the main
diet component constituted for 43.29% to 48.29% of the total food components.
It was estimated that the total enegy of detritus component found in the fish stomach
ranged from 0.99 kkal/g to 1.03 kkal/g
