ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT SUMBERDAYA PERIKANAN SEBAGAI INDIKATOR KEBERLANJUTAN DI GUGUS PULAU BATUDAKA KABUPATEN TOJO UNA-UNA
ABSTRACT: In the planning of
coastal zone Batudaka islands, fisheries has important role due to its social
and economic value. However, fisheries activities have also negative multiplier
in terms of its effect on the coastal environment especially when there is no
proper management of this activities. The aims of this research are to estimate
the carrying capacity of the coastal area which is appropriated for sustainable
fisheries development due. to ecological footprint approach (EFA). Results of
the study showed that the carrying capacity of appropriated coastal area was
low, the level EFA local scale (district) were 0.04 ha/capita and regional
scale (regency) were 0.3 ha/capita. This reason indicatedthat still exist
ecological area can be done for fisheries, and surplus fisheries area as
sustainable indicator on fisheries activity.
