DESAIN WATER TREATMENT MENGGUNAKAN KARBON AKTIF DARI CANGKANG KELAPA SAWIT PADA PROSES PENGOLAHAN AIR BERSIH DI SUNGAI MARTAPURA
Abstrak: South Kalimantan is
an area that has many streams one Martapura river. Most communities around the
river banks utilize for domestic purposes such as drinking, cooking, washing,
and bathing. However, the current water quality have been unsuitable, even
dangerous classified. Effective method used to reduce pollutant elements of
physical, chemical, biological and one of them is by using activated carbon
filtration. Raw materials can be developed as activated carbon is an oil palm
shell waste from palm oil processing industry / crude palm oil (CPO). The
purpose of this study was to determine the water quality of physical, chemical
and biological water treatment process using activated carbon from palm
shell.Observations were made of the physical parameters (turbidity, color and
TSS), chemical (iron (Fe), manganese (Mn)), biology (coliform). The best treatment
at the water treatment process Martapura river with the design of water
treatment using activated carbon from palm shell is using an activated carbon
filter. This treatment can produce clean water in accordance with the standards
PERMENKES No. 416 of 1990 and PP water quality standards 82 of 2001 results
obtained 1st class is the physics of water quality color TCU 0.0020, 0.11 NTU
turbidity and TSS 0.428 mg / l, the chemical water quality of iron (Fe) 0.0249
mg / l and manganese (Mn) of 0.0063 mg / l, and biological water quality of the
coliform bacteria numbered 7/100 ml.
